Mary George Pickrell

Mary George Pickrell, age 73, of Sophia passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Randolph Hospice House. Mrs. Pickrell was born in Austinville, VA on June 5, 1943 to Mayden and Anna Belle Davidson Poole. She was formerly employed with Unifi Textiles of Archdale for 25 years and Wal-Mart of Randleman. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper David Pickrell, and 4 brothers. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Linda "Tater" Edwards and husband Wayne of Sophia, Glenda "Rae Rae" Cox and husband Paul of Winston-Salem, Rita Faye Williams of Ramseur, and Lisa Ann Gardner of Asheboro; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Louvetta Gray and husband Claude of Thomasville; long time friends, Leon Stinson of Archdale, Cheryl Hallenback of Greensboro, and Lisa Penley of Archdale. The family will receive friends Friday, June 2, 2017 from 6-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joey Ball officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Park.
