Mary Brown Parker, age 93, of 351 Worth St., Asheboro died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Carillon Assisted Living of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 10:00-11:00 am in the parlor at First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Holder and Rev. George Roberson officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Parker was born in Asheboro, NC on July 11, 1918 to Millis Monroe and Norma Luther Brown. She was retired from Acme-McCrary Hosiery after 45 years of service and was a member of First United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Parker, Sr., brothers Millis M. Brown, Jr. and Luther William Brown, and sister Bessie Obera Brown.
She is survived by her son, Robert A. Parker, Jr. and his wife Rebecca Parker of Atlanta, GA and Tokyo, Japan; grandson, Blake Anthony Parker; granddaughter, Mackenzie Lauren Parker; and brother, Gordon S. Brown of Flushing, MI.
