Mary Lois Allred Moore, age 84, of Asheboro died Monday, May 25, 2009 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bruce Dickerson officiating. Entombment will follow in Randolph Memorial Park. Mrs. Moore was a native of Asheboro. She was a member of Sophia Baptist Church and attended Fayetteville Street Baptist Church. She was retired from Burlington Industries after 24 years of service. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, and giving chocolate to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, by whom she will always be remembered as "Grandma Shug", maker of peaches and cream. Mary also enjoyed visiting with her neighbors. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charlie M. and Lillie McPherson Allred, husband, Jesse Lloyd Moore, grandson, Jeremy Hayes Davis, son-in-law, John Lloyd Martin, sister, Ruby Presnell, and brother, Ervin Allred. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Martin of Randleman, NC, Jo Ann Davis of Asheboro, NC; son, J.D. Moore and his wife Joann of Marietta, GA; granddaughters, Heather Hayman and her husband John of Kennesaw, GA, Jennifer Badgett and her husband Andy of Marietta, GA, Hattie Rose Moore of Marietta, GA, Robin Traxler and her husband Lonnie of Center, TX; step grandson, Kerry Martin and his wife Sandy of Randleman, NC; great grandchildren, Ansley Hayman, Mary Corinne, Ada, and Charlotte Badgett, Hannah Johnson and Sarah Traxler, Johnny and Zachary Hayman, Sammy and Clarke Badgett, Ian Moore, Isaac and Jesse Lloyd Traxler; step great grandsons, Trevor, Landon, and Cole Martin; sisters, Etta Mae Moore and Maxine Canipe both of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to Vivian Phetmixay and Judy Marsh of Home Health of Randolph Hospital who so lovingly cared for our loved one.
