Mary Louise Rich Nixon passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

Louise was born on November 30, 1947 in Randolph County. She was the daughter of the late Cyrus Redding Rich and Mary Frances Hughes Rich. She was also preceded in death by brothers David Cyrus Rich and Joe Lynn Rich.

She is survived by her husband of 45 1/2 years Sammy Nixon, two brothers Donald Lee Rich and Dale Michael Rich, and aunt Bertha Hughes Wrenn. Also surviving are sister-in-law Sherie McGee (Donnie) and mother-in-law Lillie Nixon Seegers.

Surviving nieces and nephews are Anthony Rich, Laurie Rich Beck, Lee Rich, Adam Rich, Lyndsey Rich Stull, Zane Bonsal, Gracie Beck, Brandon McGee, Brittany McGee, and Blair Fridley.

Surviving cousins are Ann Rich Poole (Bobby), James Rich (Becky), Bill Sawyer (Jane), Martha Sawyer, Carl Sawyer (Linda), Ruth Sawyer Woo (Jon), Rachel Burris Willis, Mark Hughes, Patty Hughes, Julia Hughes, Phil Wrenn (Teresa), and Teresa Wrenn Dyches (Fred).

Louise was better known as "Weezie" by her cherished shared daughter Shea Setzer Grosch, husband Anthony, and son Tatum. She was known as "Grandma" by special girl Nadia Routh Smith and husband Cody.

Special friends are Jimmy and Judy Garner, Martha McCoy, Tim and Debi Setzer, Sally Robbins, Jonas and Neelie Asbill and children Dallyn and Corbin, and Dana and Sharyn Dawes.

Louise taught school for 41 years - - 1 in Charlotte, 29 at Franknlinville, and 11 at Tabernacle.

Her first church was Sawyersville. She later became a member of Grays Chapel United Methodist Church where she taught the acoyltes. She enjoyed helping with Bible School. She was also a member fo United Methodist Women where she enjoyed helping others especially making Easter baskets for the shut-ins.

Louise constantly counted her blessings. She loved working with children. She was always surrounded with lots of loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 1:30 – 2:45 pm at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church, 5056 N.C. Hwy 22 North, Franklinville. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Alanda Harris and Emma Routh officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Grays Chapel United Methodist Women, 5056 N.C. Hwy 22 North, Franklinville, NC 27248.

Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the family.
