Mary Jane Blalock King, age 91, of Asheboro died Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
She was born October 14, 1923, the daughter of Wallace Allen Blalock and Olivia Daniel Blalock.
Mrs. King was a native of Oxford, NC and formerly was employed with Randolph Hospital as an LPN and with Klopman Mills as office secretary before being a full time homemaker. She was an avid Blue Comets supporter, faithfully watching her children and grandchildren play football.
Mary Jane was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Christian Homemakers Sunday School Class and Good Time Club. She was active in the Outreach Ministries delivering service tapes to shut-ins and loved helping others in many ways.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Currie McDonald "Mac" King, Jr., her grandson, Braxton Currie King and a brother, Wallace A. Blalock, Jr.
She is survived by two sons: Donald Blalock King, Sr and his wife, Brenda Cross King of Youngsville, Mike King and his wife, Lisa Burge King of Asheboro; grandchildren: Tabatha King of Wilmington, Donald Blalock King "JR" and his wife, Amanda Hayes King of Youngsville, Michael King, Jr. and his wife, Laura Andrews King of Asheboro, Taylor King of Cherry Point, Preston King and Trenton King both of Asheboro, great granddaughters: Jamie Coley of Carolina Beach, Mackenzie King, Carlie King, Langley King and Kimball King all of Youngsville; great-great grandson: Jaxon Flynn of Carolina Beach and sister: Margaret Adcock of Berea.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 12:00 to 1:45 PM at Central United Methodist Church in the Family Life Center, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of Mike and Lisa King, 713 Cliff Road, Asheboro.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro with Dr. Terry L. Matthews and Rev. Mark Key officiating.
Entombment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park Mausoleum, Asheboro.
