Mary June Bryan Buckner, 86, of Asheboro, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living.
The family will receive friends at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro, on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Cane River Baptist Church Cemetery, 15 Cane River Road in Burnsville, NC with nephew, Bryan Hensley officiating.
Mrs. Buckner was born May 21, 1932, to Fred and Bessie Bryan in Madison County, NC. After beauty school, marriage, and a move to Randolph County, she became manager and instructor at Troutman's Beauty School in Greensboro and in later years, a dental receptionist in Asheboro. As a member of First Presbyterian Church in Asheboro, she served as a youth group leader in earlier years and later, a 5Bs committee member.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Edwin Earl Buckner; brother, Edgar Bryan and sister, Gail Rowland. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lynn Buckner of Asheboro; grandson, Taylor Buckner of Charlotte; sister, Earlene Hensley of Burnsville; brother, Roy Bryan of Evans, GA and Edwin Bryan (Loretta) of Marion; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
June was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who found pleasure doing for others in need, caring for family and friends, looking for deals at flea markets, and working hard. She has now found peace and rest.
The family would like to thank the Steve Pearce family for all their support throughout the years, the loving care given by Brookdale Clare Bridge Staff, especially Donna Reynolds and Ashley Faglier, and in her last days, Denise Batten and team of Community Home Care & Hospice.
