Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Munn Hayes

Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Munn Hayes, age 83, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Hayes was born in Richmond County, NC on August 30, 1935 to Mack and Catherine Munn. She was a member of Richland Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Lib was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Hayes, brother, Bill Munn, and great granddaughter, Reagan Tedder, who is now with her great grandmother. Lib was a very quick witted and selfless lady who did not have a mean bone in her body. She was prissy, prim, and proper. Lib was an excellent caregiver and loving nana who enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Chris Hayes (Donna) of Asheboro; daughters, Sherri Hayes (Matthew) of Asheboro and Kim Hayes Hill of Seagrove; grandchildren, Hannah Vance (Ryan), Abby Hayes, Morgan Tedder, Logan Hill, Jayce Tedder, and Brodie Beal (Nicholas); and sister, Brenda Edmonds (Jimmy) of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 10:00-11:45 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 12:00 noon at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Tommy Smith officiating. A private burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.

Lib's children and grandchildren want to extend their gratitude to Brenda and Jimmy Edmonds for their unending love, care, and sacrifice they gave to not only their parents but to them as well.
