Mary Smith Hancock, age 94, of 2925 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro died Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Carillon Assisted Living of Asheboro, Asheboro, NC. Mrs. Hancock was born July 30, 1913 at Asheboro, NC the daughter of Anthony and Sallie (Voncannon) Smith. Mrs. Hancock was formerly employed with Randolph Hospital. She was a member of Hopewell Friends Meeting and was preceded in death by her husband, George Dewey Hancock, 3 sisters, Fleda Cranford, Genieve Black, and Jessie Dawson, and 1 brother, Howard Smith. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and caring for others. She is survived by son: George "Nicholas" Hancock of Star, NC, son and his wife, Darrell and Virginia Hancock of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter, Debbie Felgenhauer of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughter, Holly Delk of Asheboro, NC; grandson, Timmy Hancock of Hiawassee, GA; granddaughter, Lisa Thrift of Burlington, NC; great grandchild, Felix Rozier; great grandchild, Ian Rozier; great grandchild, Wesley Delk; great grandchild, Austin Delk; great grandchild, Ryan Thrift; great grandchild, Chase Thrift; great grandchild, Taylor Felgenhauer The family will receive friends Thursday, October 11, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Friday, October 12, 2007 at 11:00 at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Daniel Thames officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Friends Meeting Cemetery, Asheboro on Friday at 12:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Hopewell Friends Meeting, 2244 Hopewell Friends Road, Asheboro, NC 27205
