Mary S. Grubbs, age 70, of 349 Allred Way, Randleman died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Mrs. Grubbs was born April 27, 1939, the daughter of George Furman and Eula Camp Settle.
Mrs. Grubbs was a native of Spartanburg County, SC and had worked as a registered nurse at various places over the years including Nursing Supervisor in Greenville, MS. She retired from the State of North Carolina with the Burlington Health Department. She was a member of Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church and is preceded in death by two sisters: Margaret Galloway and Catherine Ravan and one brother: Edward Settle.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years: Joseph Grubbs; son and his wife, Tom and Teresa Grubbs of Burlington, NC; daughter and her husband, Kathleen and Art Jenkins of Concord, NC; grandsons, Tristan and Wyatt Jenkins of Concord, NC; two sisters: Ethel Campbell of Lyman, SC, Martha Campbell of Greer, SC and one brother: Gene Settle of Georgetown, TX.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 15, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at the home. The funeral will be Tuesday March 16, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church, 3335 Wesleyan Rd., Randleman with Rev. Aaron Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
