Mary Catherlina Barnes Gallimore

Mary Catherlina Barnes Gallimore (Aunt Mary), went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2018 at her home.

She was born on December 31, 1926 in Randolph County. She attended Silver Valley Elementary School and graduated from Trinity High School in 1944. On April 20, 1945 she married Gilbert (Bill) Gallimore and they were married for 61 years. She worked at Kayser-Roth in the finishing department and retired in July 1989. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Gallimore, mother, Pearl Morris, son-in-law, Ed Hall, and daughter, Betty Sue Gallimore. Mary enjoyed reading, before she became visually impaired, going to high school reunions, her support group for the blind, and taking rides in the country. Mary loved small children in her family and holiday dinners at her home.

Surviving are her loving daughter, Linda Hall; sister, Alma Tyson; nephew, Danny Tyson; great nephew, Shannon Tyson (Chelsey); great niece, Sherry DeCausemaker (Michael); great great nieces and nephews, Taylor, Cody, April, Addyson, Zander, and Hadley; caregiver, Joanne Beeson; extended friends and family; and her loving dog, Walton.

The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Dough and the staff of Asheboro Family Physicians for the care and concern given to Mary.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 8138 E. Old Hwy 64 in Lexington with Rev. Bradley D. Treece officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
