Mary Edna McLeod Reynolds

Mary Edna McLeod Reynolds, age 95, of 600 Newton Rd, Raleigh, formerly of Byrd St., Troy, died Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Elmcroft Assisted Living, Raleigh. Mrs. Reynolds, the eldest of ten children, was born May 9, 1919 in the Ophir Community of Montgomery County, NC the daughter of Eldon and Lillie Voncannon McLeod. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Troy. Edna was an amazing lady who was faithful and loved her Lord. She was a student of the Word, an excellent seamstress and cook. She was a retired employee of General Electric with 30 years of service. In addition to her parents, Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Reynolds, a great grandson, Ben Cummings, one brother, Rex McLeod and two sisters, Alma Cagle and Grace Toler. She is survived by two daughters: Barbara R Bailey (Mike) of Raleigh, Rev. Jerry and Mrs. Sonja Schmidt of Richmond, Virginia; one son/brother: Rayvon McLeod (Brenda) of Asheboro; grandchildren: Angela Cummings (Mike) of Raleigh, Michele Spangler-Lineback of Wake Forest, Scott Spangler of Raleigh, Renee Brower (Ricky) of Randleman, Todd McLeod (Charlene) of Asheboro and Chris McLeod (Wendy) of Randleman; fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Loretta Garner (Joe) and Ruby Davis (Bob); three brothers: Paul McLeod (Jeanette), Odell McLeod (Jenny) and Hubert McLeod (Mae); sister-in-law Peggy McLeod. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 1-2 pm at First Baptist Church of Troy, 401 E Main St., Troy with the funeral to follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Hubert McLeod officiating.
