Mary Frances Underwood Dixon

Mary Frances Underwood Dixon, age 92, of Asheboro passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation.

Mary Frances was born in Asheboro on December 5, 1926 to Henry Otho and Daisy Henson Underwood. She was retired from Union Carbide after 36 years of service. Mary Frances was a member of Giles Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Mary Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dean Dixon, son, Roger Dean Dixon, son-in-law, Donald "Whitey" Thompson, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers. Mary Frances loved her job at Union Carbide. She never met a stranger and was faithful to her church, her family, and her friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Jo Thompson of Asheboro and Pat Cox and husband Greg of Archdale; son, Michael Dixon and wife Regina of Randleman; grandchildren, Tony Thompson and wife Nancy, Julie Shafer, Matthew Dixon and wife Tina, and Garrett Dixon; great grandchildren, Cory Brady and wife Stevie, Ryan Brady and wife Caitlin, McKenna Shafer, Leah Thompson, and Jordan Dixon; and great great granddaughter, Kennedy Paige Brady.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Don Eisinger officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
