Mary Deane Hicks

Mary Deane (G'ma) Euliss Hicks, age 92, of Ramseur died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Sunset Knoll Cemetery, Ramseur with Dr. Charles R. Fleshman, Jr. and Rev. Justus McKeel officiating. Mrs. Hicks was a native of Randolph County and was formerly employed with Burlington Industries. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ramseur and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Weatherly Chapter #271 in Ramseur. Deanie was an avid doll collector. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Hicks, grandson, Brian Hicks, sisters, Ruth Williams and Daile Harris, and brothers, Fred Euliss and Michael Euliss. She is survived by her sons, Johnny E. Hicks and his wife Linda of Ramseur, David L. Hicks and his wife LeAnn of Ramseur; daughter, Virginia H. Haithcox and her husband Ray of Greensboro, NC; granddaughters, Donna Urban and her husband Tim, Diane Hayes and her husband David, Leslie Brown and her husband James; grandsons, Glenn Haithcox, Wayne Hicks, Kenneth Brown and his wife Heather; 7 great grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Snickers. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ramseur, P.O.
