Mary Susan "Susie" Johnson Auman, age 91, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Universal Health Care of Ramseur.
Mrs. Auman was born in Steeds, NC, on February 6, 1927, to Jasper and Effie Johnson. Susie was a loving wife, mother, "mawmaw," sister, aunt, and friend. She was of the Baptist faith. Before her declining health, she enjoyed caring for her family, gardening, and working at Harris Teeter in the floral department.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Auman and her sister, Louise Johnson Cox.
She is survived by her daughters, Amy Brantley and husband, Jeff, of Asheboro, and Vicki Jarrell and husband, Robbie, of Asheboro; her granddaughter, Megan Jarrell of Winston-Salem.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 7, from 1-2 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 at Oaklawn Cemetery, 737 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, with Dr. J. F. Howard officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joseph and Susie Auman Memorial Scholarship, Randolph Community College, 629 Industrial Park Avenue, Asheboro, NC 27205.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Universal Health Care of Ramseur for the care given to their mother over the past 4 ½ years.
