Mary Ann Odom Atkins, formerly of Franklinville, passed away February 4, 2021. She was born April 14, 1932 in Montgomery County, the daughter of John and Beatrice Lucas Odom. Mrs. Atkins was retired from Champagne Dye Works. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Atkins is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Charlie (JC) Atkins; daughter, Sandy Cox; sisters, Ruth Odom, Rachel Smith, Sarah Blyth, Naomi Carter and Marty Simmons of Brown Summit. She is survived by her sons: Larry Atkins of Seagrove, Randy Atkins and his wife Betty of Aiken, SC; daughters: Kathy Hill and husband Jimmy of Asheboro, Karen Cox and husband Randy of Asheboro and Cheryl Nelson and husband Mike of Franklinville; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren,12 great great grandchildren; brothers, John Odom and David Odom both of Greensboro and Joe Odom of Stokesdale. Mary was a prayer warrior, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who enjoyed cooking, painting and family. A private family graveside service will be held. Mary's favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Pugh Funeral Home in Randleman is serving the family.
