Marvin Parish Bennett

Marvin Parish Bennett, age 88, formerly of 312 Virginia Ave., Asheboro died Friday, April 20, 2012 at Carolina House of Asheboro. Mr. Bennett was born October 6, 1923 the son of Rev. Henry Bert and Mary Etta Jenrette Bennett. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 2:00 PM - 2:45 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The Graveside Service will follow at 3:00 PM in Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro, with Rev. Bruce McLanahan officiating. Marvin was a native of Brunswick County, NC and an Army veteran of WWII. He worked for many years in road construction with Blythe Company. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by: step-daughter and her husband: Frances and John Strickland of Asheboro, NC; step-daughter and her husband: Vickie and Charles Jones of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren: Dessaree Walter, Tonya Bivens, Chris and Jeffrey Hamilton, Donna Wallace, Christy Rich, Denise Warren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister: Polly Millikan of Shallotte, NC and brother: Ted Bennett of Myrtle Beach, SC.
