Martin Dwayne Griffin

Martin Dwayne "Marty" Griffin, age 48, of Asheboro died Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Avenue Church of God, 900 Sunset Ave., Asheboro with Pastor Jason Goins and Katie Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mr. Griffin was a native of Asheboro. He was a 1982 graduate of Asheboro High School and attended Lee University in Cleveland, TN. Marty was the outreach pastor at Renaissance Road (R-2) Church in Jamestown. His profession was graphic design, home and furniture design. He is survived by his parents, Cornelius (Neal) Griffin, Jr. and Elizabeth "Libby" Griffin of Asheboro; brothers, Cornelius (Neal) Griffin III and his wife Julia of Asheboro, Christopher L. "Chris" Griffin and his wife Stacy of Asheboro; sister, Deanna Clement and her husband Matt of Asheboro; and nieces and nephews, Christian, Lizzie, Lucy, Jessie, and Harrison. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro.
