Marlin William Schlein, age 73, of Franklinville died Friday, September 12, 2014 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Mr. Schlein was born April 15, 1941 in Lancaster, PA the son of Marlin and Mae Helena McCready Schlein. Marlin was a graduate of University of Maryland and studied at Houghton College, Houghton, NY. for 2 years. Marlin was the former president of Central Carolina Material Handling, Inc. and a substitute teacher and tutor for Randolph County and Asheboro City Schools. He was a member of New Salem Methodist Church. He loved his family most of all and they are comforted by the fact that "Poppy" is in the arms of God and they will join him in heaven one day. His hobbies were "Trains, trains and trains" and reading and working in the yard and playing with his constant k9 companion, Trixie.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Lynne Anderson Schlein of the home; son: Marlin Schlein, Jr. and his wife Julie; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Grayson and Bryson Schlein; brother: Richard Schlein of Las Vegas, NEV.; brother-in-law, William Koester;
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 4:30 - 5:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The memorial service will follow at 5:30 in Chapel, with Rev. Joyce Bunn officiating.
