Mark Harrison Stickle, Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior early Sunday, October 31st after a valiant battle with Leukemia. He was born October 18th, 1956 in Washington, DC. He was 54 years old. He was predeceased by his parents Wilmer Franklin Stickle, Jr. and Christina Somerville Stickle; sister, Christina Pearce; and mother-in-law Ruby S. Winslow.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Mary Winslow Stickle; sons, Mark Harrison Stickle, Jr. and wife Amanda of Archdale, Robert Worth Stickle of Randleman; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Stickle of Wilmington; grandsons, Carter and Caleb Stickle of Randleman; brothers, Frank Stickle and wife Karen of Centreville, VA, Bob Stickle of Asheboro; sister, Carolyn Stickle Koser of Asheboro; father-in-law, Pastor Leslie N. Winslow; brother-in-law, Worth Winslow and wife Nada of Asheboro, brother-in-law, Pete Pearce and wife Caroline of Greensboro, and numerous extended family members.
Mark was a graduate of St. James School in Hagerstown, MD and Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. He lived with his wife and their family in Fayetteville NC for 21 years. He was a partner in an executive search firm for many years, and started his own business Stickle and Associates, Inc. in the early 90's so he could be more active with his children. He and his family moved to Asheboro NC in 2000.
Mark will be sorely missed by his family, many friends, Bible study group, shooting aficionados, and best buddy Rembrandt. He was an amazing husband, loving father and Pe-Pa to Carter and Caleb. Mark's strong faith in God and positive attitude endeared him to his doctors and nursing staff at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. His family truly appreciates their heroic and compassionate efforts on his behalf.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Central United Methodist Church on Thursday, November 4th at 3:00 pm with a visitation period afterwards in the Family Life Center.
