Marjorie Turner Deaton of Decatur, GA died Saturday, October 15, 2011.
Mrs. Deaton was born in Stanly County, NC to Douglas A. and Ellen Singleton Turner.
Mrs. Deaton was a member of Decatur First Baptist Church, the Federation Women's Club and the DeKalb Federal Garden Club. She was the owner of Kathryn's Dress Shop in Asheboro, NC and always active in her church life serving as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. She held a strong belief in both, foreign and local missions. She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Deaton.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Don Guffey of Atlanta, GA; granddaughters and their husbands, Elizabeth and Zeke Thomas of Atlanta and Amy and Tim Clay of Johns Creek, GA; and a great granddaughter, Tyler Grace Clay of Johns Creek, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 17, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at A. S. Turner & Sons, Decatur, GA and Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
Graveside services will be held at Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Oaklawn Cemetery, 737 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, NC.
