Marie Andrews Dunn

Marie Andrews Dunn, age 59, of 241 Woodyard Road, Mt. Gilead died Friday, March 16, 2012, following a brief illness at Carolinas Medical Center Northeast, Concord. Mrs. Dunn was born September 9, 1952 at Montgomery County, NC, the daughter of the late Eli Overton and Mae Staley Overton of Albemarle. Marie owned and operated Marie Dunn Bookkeeping Service and was the Secretary for the Montgomery Baptist Association. She had worked previously for 13 years as church secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a member of Forks of Little River Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband: David P Dunn of the home; two sons: Dennis Morris of Robbins, Chris Andrews of Aberdeen; one granddaughter: Makayla Shae Andrews; two brothers: Buddy Overton of Candor, Jessie "Buster" Overton of Troy; one stepson: Jonathan Dunn of Greenville, NC; one stepdaughter: Alicia Brower of High Point; 5 step-grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 pm at Forks of Little River Baptist Church, 2356 Okeeweemee-Star Road, Troy with Dr. Paul Chandley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
