Margaret Lambert Wright, age 93, died on July 23, 2019 at Clapp's Nursing Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 26, 2019 at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Scotty Carpenter and Reverend Mark Hall officiating. The visitation will be at 10:00 am at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wright was born December 14, 1925, daughter of John Robert Lambert and Kate Stinson Lambert. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Marston Wright, sisters, Catherine Lambert Cox and Clara Lambert Neal, son-in-law, Hal Hammer Walker, Jr., her parents, and her stepdaughter, Angela P. Duffie.
A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Wright was a graduate of Coleridge School, attended N.C. State University. She also graduated from Winnona School of Photography with a degree in Photographic Oil Painting. She was the oil painting artist for her husband at Wright Studio of Photography.
Mrs. Wright was a member of First Baptist Church in Asheboro where she had served as a Deacon, Girls' Auxiliary Leader and Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Wright was a long-time member of the Asheboro Woman's Club, having served as President. She was a life-long member of the Randolph Arts Guild where she served as a board member. Mrs. Wright was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, member of Happy Bookers Book Club, a docent at the N.C. Zoo and a CUOC volunteer. She also volunteered at Our Daily Bread and Friends of the Library.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosiland W. Walker; son W. Marston (Marty) Wright, Jr. and wife Priscilla; grandsons, Hal Hammer Walker III and Matthew Lambert Walker; great-granddaughter, Maggie Ross Walker; stepchildren, Lisa M. Pritcher and husband David, Donnie Pritcher and wife Johna, Sue Cuthbert and husband DuBose; and several step-grandchildren.
