Margaret Estella Schield, age 93, went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2015 at her home in Randleman, NC, surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret was born January 28, 1922 in Waverly, Iowa to the late Roy and Gertrude Steward. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Preston Schield in 2003.
Her survivors include her three daughters, Susan Kowalsky (Allen), Alexander, NC; Kathleen Cooper (Craig), Randleman, NC; Annette Dever (Larry), San Marcos, TX; and her son, Steven Schield (Doreen), Longboat Key, FL. She is also survived by 11 grandchilden, Misty Shrimplin (Patrick), Christy Secraw (Chad), Kim Buchanan (Matt), Cory Cooper (Sara), Kaley Ballard (Jeremy), Cameron Cooper (Emily), Zachary Schield, Nicholas Dever, Forrest Schield, Dylan Dever, Savannah Schield and 10 great grandchildren; Sydney and Dale Shrimplin, Brittany and Nathan Secraw, Kala, Hannah and David Cooper, James and Troy Buchanan and Waverly Cooper.
Margaret grew up and married in Iowa, where all four of her children were born. She moved to Kissimmee, FL in 1958 and later moved to Randleman, NC in 2001 to be near her daughter and son-in –law, Kathy and Craig Cooper. She was a retired Deputy Clerk of Court of Osceola County Florida. She was a past president of the Art Association of Osceola County, member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years, Kissimmee Woman’s Club, Bible Study Fellowship and the First United Methodist Church of Randleman. Margaret was a creative spirit that taught ceramics when she was younger and painted her entire life, completing her last works shortly before her death. She loved art, gardening and most of all her family, who will greatly miss this intelligent, artistic and loving woman.
Her celebration of life service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Randleman on Sunday, November 15, 2015. Visitation will be at 12:30 pm with services at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Pugh Funeral Home is serving the family.
