Margaret Louise Rains Cranford

Margaret Louise Rains Cranford, age 88 of Asheboro, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022 at her home.

Margaret was born October 5, 1933 in Guilford County to Grady and Ruby Bradley Rains. Margaret worked on the assembly line at Black and Decker and retired from there. Once retired, she enjoyed being a homemaker and spoiling her grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren whom she loved and adored. Margaret is a member at Brower’s Chapel United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping delivery food with their Meals on Wheels program. She loved cooking and was known for her biscuits, chocolate pie and her persimmon pudding. Margaret enjoyed gardening, taking care of her yard, and loving on her cat, Tabby. In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Herman Cranford; her brother, Floyd Rains, and her son-in-law, Michael Freeman.

Margaret is survived by her son, Doug Cranford and his wife Vicki of Flower Mound, TX; daughter, Glenda Freeman of Asheboro; grandchild, Katie Baxter and her husband Adam of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Bristol and Baylor; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 1:00 pm at New Hope Memorial Gardens, 3448 New Hope Church Rd., Asheboro, NC 27205 with Rev. Richard Routh officiating.
