Margaret Gainey Freeman

Margaret Gainey Freeman, age 77, of 154 Safie 5th St., Rockingham died Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Sandhills Regional Medical Center, Hamlet.Mrs. Freeman was born February 22, 1932 in Cumberland County, NC, the daughter of Lawrence and Ola (Sessoms) Gainey. Margaret lived for many years in the Troy area and worked as a short order cook at the Better Burger, Hometown Bar-B-Que and Biscoe Cafe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lacy Freeman. She is survived by one son: Charles Nordan of Sumter, SC; friend, Roy Lisenby of Rockingham; nephew, David Millen and wife, Louise of Hamlet; very special friend, Gladys Dillard of Hamlet; niece, Faye Sutton and husband, Junior of Pt Harbor, NC; niece, Phyllis Millen of Monroe and several other nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 - 2:00PM at Highland Acres Church of God, Hwy 74E, Rockingham; other times at the home of David and Louise Millen, 106 Adele St., Hamlet. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 pm at Highland Acres Church of God with Rev. Eston Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Flint Hill Church of God Cemetery, 1191 Flint Hill Rd., Troy.Arrangements by Pugh-Troy Funeral Home
