Margaret Neal McDonald Ellis, age 88, of, Asheboro died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at her home.
Mrs. Ellis was born August 27, 1927 at Carthage, NC the daughter of Former Sheriff Charles Jasper McDonald and Ethel Dalrymple McDonald.
Mrs. Ellis was a native of Carthage and a member of Central United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of High Point College, taught school at Charles McCrary Elementary School and retired from Asheboro City School system after 34 years. In addition to her parents; Neal was preceded in death by her brother: Charles J. McDonald, sister: Becky M. Baker and nephew: Kevin Baker.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years: Thomas Edwin Ellis, daughters: Teresa (Ronnie) Pugh of Asheboro, and Debra (Mike) Manring of Randleman; son: Tom (Mary Sam) Ellis, Jr of Kings Mountain; grandchildren and their spouses: Aaron (Haley) Pugh, Tyson (Collins) Pugh, Derek (Taylor) Pugh, Brad Manring fiancée Brittany Simmons) Sara Manring, Tripp Ellis, Marybeth (Jared) Boyd and Katie Ellis; great grandchildren: Sawyer, Frances, Henry and Brooks Pugh; brother: Worth (Frankie) McDonald of Raleigh; sister: Jean M. Bennett of Southern Pines;
brother-in-law: Buddy Baker of Carthage; numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Dr. Terry L. Matthews officiating. Following the service the family will receive friends in the Central United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro, NC.
