Margaret Zgainer Eakin, age 88, of Jamestown, died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Shannon Gray Rehabilitation Center in Jamestown.
Margaret was born in Washington, PA on June 2, 1927, daughter of Katherine Katrenich and Florian Michael Zgainer, who preceded her in death. Margaret married the love of her life, Fay Kendall Eakin, Jr., on June 24, 1950, lost him at his death on August 28, 2013, and missed him for the rest of her life. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Jeffries of Washington, PA.
Surviving are her children, Wesley Fay Eakin (Sheila) of Hardinsburg, KY, Jill Eakin DeYoung (Scott) of Asheboro, Bruce Kendall Eakin (Karen) of Hanover, PA; grandchildren Jordan, Rebecca, Sarah, Kalin, Brian and Elizabeth; great grandchildren Brianna, Kacie and Jace, several nieces and nephews; sister Betty Jane Godfrey of California.
Mrs. Eakin was an Administrative Assistant for various local businesses, and a loving homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, knitting, sewing, working in her flowers, and most of all spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was affiliated with the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Washington, PA.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 3:00 PM at New Hope Memorial Gardens, 3448 New Hope Church Road, Asheboro.
