Margaret P. Davis

Margaret Paisley Davis of Asheboro passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Hospice House of Randolph County. Mrs. Davis was born November 3, 1924 and was a lifetime resident of Asheboro. She was a member of West Bend United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, was a member of the United Methodist Women, and a Church Council representative. She volunteered countless hours with the Red Cross at Randolph Memorial Hospital, many PTA's, and as a Cub Scouts Den Mother. She retired as a teacher's assistant from Donna Lee Loflin Elementary School. Mrs. Davis was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clarence W. Davis of Asheboro. She was predeceased by her oldest son, Charles Robert Davis and his wife, Regina, of North Wilkesboro, NC. Her surviving sons are: C . Lee Davis and his wife, Melinda Fine, of Raleigh, NC, Douglas P. Davis and his wife, Colleen, of Boca Raton, FL, J. Stephen Davis and his wife, Karen, of Fuquay-Varina, NC., six grandchildren, Charles Brandon Davis and wife, Kimberly, Ryan Michael Davis and wife, Stephanie, all of Asheboro, Stephanie Braswell and husband, Eddie, of Conover, NC, Megan Davis Whitener and husband, Rob, of Raleigh, NC, Elizabeth Suzanne Davis of Texas & Jonathan Drew Davis of Germany, and five great- grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Marian Auman and Edith Burkhead, both of Asheboro, along with numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at West Bend United Methodist Church with the Rev. Drew McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to West Bend United Methodist Church, 1080 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, NC 27203 or Hospice of Randolph County, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
