Marcelle Rayle Smith

Marcelle Rayle Smith, age 72, of Beaufort, NC died Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Croatan Ridge Nursing and Rehab in Newport. Mrs. Smith was born April 14, 1944 in Randleman the daughter of Robert Earl and Mildred Frazier Rayle, Sr. Mrs. Smith was a native of Randolph County where she attended Randleman High School. Marcelle was a member of the Tuttles Grove Methodist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star in Beaufort, NC. She was formerly employed with Barudan America of Greensboro. Marcelle is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband: Lawrence C. “Sonny” Smith, Jr., daughter: Jean Demetrice Palomares of Randleman; son: Karl Kevin and wife Cathy Smith of Randleman; grandchildren: Michael Scott Allred of Asheboro, Joshua Dale and wife Veronica Loflin of Randleman and Casey Holling Smith of Winston-Salem; great grand-children: Bryson and Jase Allred both of Asheboro and Ava Loflin of Randleman; sister: Sue Amos of Siler City and brother Robert E. and wife Kay Rayle, Jr. of Randleman; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street in Randleman and other times at her home of her son Karl at 204 Holder Street in Randleman. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 119 W. River Drive in Randleman with Rev. Kaye Fry and Rev. Jim Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
