Mae Cooper, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday morning, March 11, 2017, at the age of 85. The funeral will be Friday, March 17th, 2 PM at Mt. Calvary Independent Baptist Church, burial will follow at Faith Temple Baptist Church.
Mae was born June 4, 1931, in Montgomery County, to the late Theodore and Nellie Jackson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Jarrell, three sisters, Sara Britt, Edna Williamson, and Elizabeth Kearn. Mae worked in the textile industry all her life. Mae was a member of Mt. Calvary Independent Baptist Church. Mae was a breast cancer survivor and was a volunteer for Hospice of Randolph County with an honorary award for 500 hours of service. She is survived by daughter, Brenda Morrison (John), Shirley Williams (Fred), son, Sammy Smith, grandchildren, April Blakeley, and Heather James (Mitch) and Brian Jarrell, two great grandchildren, Ashlyn and Jacob, and two brothers, Robert Jackson (Linda) and Gene Jackson (Margaret).
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Randolph Hospice House for all their love and care, in making Mae comfortable in her last days.
Visitation with the family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, Thursday, March 16th from 7-9 pm.
