Madge VanHoy Kearns

Madge VanHoy Kearns, age 94, of Troy died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Sandy Ridge Memory Care of Candor. Mrs. Kearns was born July 1, 1918 in Montgomery County, NC, the daughter of the late Foster and Bertie Harris VanHoy. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Troy and a former employee of Capel Rug Mill. Mrs. Kearns was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. William (Bill) Kearns. She is survived by two brothers and their wives: Eugene and Doris VanHoy of King, NC and Jim and Barbara VanHoy of San Jose, California; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Margie VanHoy of Troy, NC and Mrs. Lottie Mae VanHoy of Waycross, Georgia. Mrs. Kearns is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kelly Sorg officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Troy. Arrangements by Pugh-Troy Funeral Home.
