Madeline Maness Davis, age 92, formerly of Cliff Road, Asheboro died Friday, February 10, 2012 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.
Mrs. Davis was born July 12, 1919 the daughter of Kelly Maness and Annie Beane Maness Smith.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of her daughter, Peggy and Vance Lawson, 1139 NC Hwy 42 S. Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Monday, February 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Fayetteville Street Baptist Church, 901 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro with Dr. Bruce Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
Madeline was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was native of Montgomery County and was retired as owner/operator from Madelyn's Shoe Store in Asheboro. She had also worked in the textile industry and was a faithful member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Madeline is preceded in death by her husband: Earl Ray Davis; brothers: Tracy Maness, Albert Maness, Clyde Maness and sisters: Ester M. Kennedy and Effie M. Holland.
She is survived by: daughter and her husband, Peggy and Vance Lawson of Asheboro, NC; son and his wife, Phillip and Alice Davis of Staley, NC; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and one brother: Howard Maness of Asheboro, NC.
