Mabel Auman Yow

Mabel Auman Yow, age 97, of Seagrove died Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at her daughters' home in Charlotte. Mrs. Yow was born in Seagrove, NC on April 4, 1919 to Jesse Kelly and Lillie Blanche McNeill Auman. She was formerly employed with Holly Hill Candle and Graves Pottery and was a member of Asbury Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband Worth Yow. Mabel enjoyed watching wrestling, auto racing, reading, and taking care of her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Roland Yow and wife Alice of Cary, NC; daughters, Nancy Strider of Charlotte, NC and Katherine Brown and husband Gilbert of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Friesen and husband Jon, Jan Allyson Baxley and husband Bryan, Patricia Frame and husband Gary, Michael Strider and wife Shelly, David Strider and wife Christy, Debra Jessup and husband Kevin, and Kimberly Brown; great grandchildren, Emilie, Rebekah, Brynn, Jennifer, Johnny, Kayla, Ariel, Carter, Mason, Adam, Riley, and Camden; brother, Fletcher Auman and wife Pat of Seagrove, NC; and sister, Frances Lee of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Asbury Baptist Church, 395 Asbury Church Rd., Seagrove with Rev. Wayne Bryson and Rev. Clay Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Yow Family Cemetery at Seagrove Methodist Church.
