ASHEBORO--Lydia Voncannon Miller, age 88, of Asheboro passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Cross Road Retirement Community.
Mrs. Miller was born in Randolph County on March 12, 1928 to Jason and Ada Williams Voncannon. She was formerly employed with Cross Road Retirement Community and was a member of Hunt's Plank Road Chapel. In addition to her parents, Lydia is preceded in death by 6 brothers and 1 sister.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Cross Road Alzheimer's Care Center (ACC) for their thoughtful and loving care given to Lydia during her time there.
She is survived by her husband, Gilbert W. Miller; sons, Glenn Miller of Asheboro and Wayne Miller and wife Teresa of Asheboro; grandchildren, Todd Miller and wife Lisa of Smithfield, Jason Miller of Missouri, Rodney Miller and wife Stacey of Asheboro, Amber Skeen and husband Chris of Asheboro; great grandchildren Sierra Miller of Smithfield, Kyleigh Miller of Smithfield, Davis Miller of Asheboro, and Wyatt Skeen of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 11:00 am-12:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Monday at 1:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
