Luther Eugene "Scooter" Brown, Jr., age 53, of 9373 US Hwy. 220 S., Seagrove died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Seagrove United Methodist Church, 225 W. Main St., Seagrove with Rev. Robert E. Dowling officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Brown was a native of Republic, Washington, was formerly employed with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 24 years and had worked the past 2 years at Troy Lumber Company. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joann Chaney Brown and his sister, Marie Cromer. He is survived by his wife, Donna Brown; daughters, Jennifer Brown of Asheboro, NC, Ashley Brown of Ramseur, NC; granddaughter, Laci Poole of Asheboro, NC; and father, Luther Eugene Brown of Worthville, NC. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 2, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
