Lucy Mildred Poindexter

Lucy Mildred Smith Poindexter, age 87, of Randleman died Friday, January 6, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Poindexter was born March 29, 1929 the daughter of William and Rosa Belle Smith. Lucy was a native of Hamlet, NC and was of Baptist faith. She enjoyed crocheting and working crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents Lucy is preceded in death by her husband Gary Poindexter, son, Greg Poindexter, grandsons: Nicholas and Glenn Poindexter, brother, J.D. Smith and sister, Annabell Weintraub. She is survived by her son: Steve Poindexter (Sonya)of Randleman; grandchildren, Stephen Poindexter, Jr. (Dana) of Sophia, Jarrod Poindexter (Angie) of Franklinville, Jeffrey Poindexter of Randleman, Dustin Poindexter of Greensboro, Zachary Poindexter of Asheboro, Jacob Poindexter of Randleman, and Felicia Holmes (Michael) of Efland, NC; 8 great grandchildren; brother: William Don Smith of Pittsboro. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 10:00-10:45 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main St, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park, 1717 East Broad Ave., Rockingham, NC at 2:00 pm. Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman is serving the Poindexter family.
