Lucy Thompson Garner

Lucy Thompson Garner, age 88, of 213 Hughes St., Asheboro died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Ms. Garner was a native of Moore County, worked for the Department of Navy in Charlotte during WWII and was retired from the customer services department of Stedmans. She was a member of Balfour Baptist Church were she was a Sunday School teacher, director of WMU, member of the Senior Choir and was a GA Leader. She is survived by one daughter: Sue Apoian of Asheboro, NC and four sons: David B Garner of Seagrove, NC, Bobby Garner of Badin, NC, Joey Garner of Asheboro, NC, nephew, Mitchell Thompson of Asheboro, NC; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren The family will receive friends Thursday, October 25, 2007 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Friday, October 26, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Balfour Baptist Church, 1644 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro with Rev. Tim Lowry, Tom Glass, Rev. Bill Kincaid officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Balfour Baptist Church New Bus Fund, 1644 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
