Lucy Benetta Crowell

Lucy Benetta Crowell, age 81, of Asheboro, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Beacon Place, Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro. Mrs. Crowell was born December 29, 1928 in Randolph County, the daughter of George Benjamin and Ruth Kearns Crowell. Ms. Crowell was formerly employed at Acme McCrary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Blanche McGlohon Sunday School class and the United Methodist Women's Circle #3. She was a volunteer at Randolph Hospital and loved flowers and children. She is survived by sisters: Catherine C Hester of Tulsa, OK, Anna Alexander of Greensboro, NC, and Nancy Villeneuve of Gold Canyon, AZ and one brother: John Crowell of Tulsa, OK. She is predeceased by her brothers: J D Crowell, Robert Crowell, Charles Crowell, William Crowell, and George Crowell. The family will receive friends Monday, May 10, 2010 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the church parlor prior to the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro with Rev. Michael Holder officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203 or to the donor's choice.
