Lucille Tucker Batten

Lucille Tucker Batten, age 82, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, formerly of 167 Freeman Electric Road, Troy, died Friday, March 2, 2012 at Marietta Mission Personal Care Home, Lawrenceville, Georgia. Mrs. Batten was born January 27, 1930 at Troy, NC, the daughter of Kinney and Iola Dennis Hill. Lucille had lived in the Troy area most of her life, but some years ago moved near her son, Wade in Georgia. She was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church and a former employee of Troy Drapery Corporation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade C. Batten, Sr. She is survived by three sons: Kenneth Lee Tucker of Hickory, NC, Wallace U. Tucker of Wilmington, NC, Wade C. Batten, Jr. of Lawrenceville, Georgia; one sister: Dorothy Link of Charlotte, NC; one stepdaughter, Linda B. Crooks of Thomasville, NC; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 2:00 pm until 2:45 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC. A graveside service will be Sunday at 3:00 pm at Southside Cemetery, S. Main Street, Troy. Pugh-Troy Funeral Home is serving the Batten family.
