Josephine "Lucille" Williams Long, age 91, of Asheboro died Friday, May 19, 2017 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro.
Mrs. Long was born March 9, 1926, the daughter of Thomas Monroe and Cora Jenkins Williams
Mrs. Long was born in Winston-Salem and a lifelong homemaker. Lucille loved the Lord and was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church. Lucille enjoyed working in flowers and her garden. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude Long; brother, Donnie Williams and brother, Mack and his wife Evelyn Williams and a step great grandchild, Cindy Schierenbeck.
She is survived by her daughter: Donna and her husband Michael Auman of Asheboro, grandchildren, Jeff and his wife Cheryl Auman of Greenwood, SC and Kevin and his wife Lisa Auman of Black Mountain, NC, great grandchildren, Abby Auman, Emily Auman Stratton and husband Josh, and Sashwa Auman; step grandchild, Ginny and her husband Steve Petras; step great grandchildren, Cameron, Matthew, and Marissa Petras; Sister in law, Odette Williams; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 22, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M.at Oakhurst Baptist Church, 2225 South Fayetteville Street, Asheboro .Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank you” to her primary care physician, Dr. Douglas Schultz and to Clapps Convalescent Nursing Center for their loving care and concern toward Lucille.
