Lucille Slagle Haney

Lucille Slagle Haney, age 86, of Asheboro passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Randolph Hospice House. Mrs. Haney was born in Johnson City, TN on January 25, 1931 to Lem and Savanah Walters Slagle. She was formerly employed with Rampon and was a member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie and Robert Slagle, and her sister, Irene Bailey. Lucille was a hardworking lady who enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers, and crocheting. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William Haney; daughter, Karen Haney of Asheboro; sons, David Haney and wife Sherry of Asheboro, and Michael Haney and Patricia of Boston, MA; grandson, Tyler Haney of Asheboro; granddaughter, Emily Haney of Asheboro; sisters, Dorothy Norris of Asheboro, Nora Walls of Jonesboro, TN; brothers, Hardin Slagle, John Slagle, and Weldon Slagle all of Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 1:00-1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bruce Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
