Lucille Auman Freeman, age 93, of Asheboro passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at North Pointe Assisted Living Community.
Mrs. Freeman was born in Troy, NC to Loy and Elizabeth Cole Auman. She grew up in Randolph County, graduated from Seagrove High School and attended Jones Business School. Lucille retired from Randolph Savings & Loan (now PNC) after 32 years of service. She was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Freeman, sisters, Edith Hogan, Annie Bell Strider, and Verdie Freeman, and brother, L.R. Auman. Lucille was a very kind, helpful, trustworthy, and humble lady. She was a loving mother and grandmother and took care of her family. Lucille loved music and playing the piano. She enjoyed traveling to the beach.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Morgan and husband Randall of Asheboro; granddaughters, Keri Hilsinger and husband Ryan and Lindsey Lahr and husband Philip all of Asheboro; great grandsons, Barrett and Davis Hilsinger both of Asheboro; brother, Kenneth Auman and wife Evelyn of Asheboro; and several special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 11:00 am-12:45 pm in the Oakhurst Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 2225 South Fayetteville Street, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 1:00 pm at Oakhurst Baptist Church with Dr. Keith Hudson and Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial will be in the Center Cross Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caregivers at North Pointe and Hospice of Randolph County for their loving care, kindness, compassion, and devoted care that was extended to Mrs. Freeman.
