Lucille Armstrong

Lucille Garner Armstrong, age 88, of Asheboro died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Carillon Assisted Living of Asheboro. Mrs. Armstrong was born May 25, 1925 in Asheboro to Phillip and Beulah Hammond Garner. She was a member of Farmer Baptist Church. Mrs. Armstrong was formerly employed by Stedman's of Asheboro and The Alpha House of Asheboro. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Nellis F. Armstrong and sons, Phillip and Timothy Armstrong. She is survived by sons, Kenneth Armstrong of Asheboro, George Armstrong of Denton; daughter, Sharon Armstrong of Asheboro; daughter-in-law, Gaye Armstrong Jefferies of Denton; grandchildren, Stacey Ferguson of Staley, Shane Armstrong, Carmen Kinley, Harold Kinley, Jr and Karen Shearer all of Asheboro, Derek Armstrong of Lexington, Christopher Armstrong of Archdale; sister, Edna G. Britt of Concord; brothers, Ralph Garner and Jimmy Garner of Asheboro; special friends, Jan Richardson of Asheboro, Judy Whitaker of Denton. The family will receive friends Friday, October 25, 2013 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Farmer Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Letterman officiating. Burial will be in Farmer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
