Lucille Dawkins Andrews of Asheboro died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Randolph Hospital.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the parlor of First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC and other times at her home. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Sylvia Wilhelm officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Andrews was born in Mt. Gilead, NC to Carl and Myrtle Spoon Dawkins and was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Mt. Gilead High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Scarboro Andrews, and her sisters Kathleen Shaw, Dorothy Hubbard, Lota Lee Maynor, Carrie White, and Gladys Nordan. Lucille was an avid bridge player and bowler.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra Dorsett and her husband Ray of Midlothian, VA, Donna Andrews of Hickory, NC; sons, Kenneth Andrews of Jackson ,TN, Steve Andrews and his wife Melodie of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Bryan Dorsett and his wife Rachel of Riner , VA, Emily Dorsett of Apex, NC, Laura Andrews and Mary Andrews both of Asheboro, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
