Louise Miller Moose, age 80, of Asheboro died Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Garcia Medical Center in the Philippines.
Ms. Moose was born in Salisbury on November 11, 1934 to Henry and Virginia Melchor Miller. Louise was a 1953 graduate of Boyden High School and graduated from Catawba College with a B.A. Degree in Elementary Education. She was a former teacher with Wilkes Elementary School, Walkertown Elementary School, and was a special education teacher at Guy B. Teachey Elementary School from 1979-1982. Louise was a member of Central United Methodist Church from 1972-2005 where she was a member of the Christian Homemakers Sunday School class, the Good Times Club, sang in the choir, and taught the 4-year old day school class. In 2008, Louise joined Asheboro Friends Meeting where she was a member of the Friendly Friends Sunday school class, the Elderberry's, and the Christian Women's Club. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Heywood Miller, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Norman Moose, Jr. of the Philippines and sons Jonathan and Matthew; daughter, Terri Baynes, spouse Ken and son Justin of Greensboro; sister, Margie Gaede of Tega Cay, SC; several nieces and nephews; and cousin, Mary Ann Nelson of Salisbury.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 3:00-4:00 pm at Central United Methodist Church, 300 South Main St., Asheboro. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 pm at Central United Methodist Church with Dr. Terry L. Matthews officiating.
