Henry Louis York, age 86, of 1016 Draper St., Asheboro died Monday, March 10, 2008 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles McHargue, Rev. Garry Arnett and Rev. Jeff Collins officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. York was born April 20, 1921 in Ramseur, was an Army veteran of WWII and retired from Klopman Mills. He was a former member of Central Wesleyan Church where he was a Sunday School teacher, a board member and choir member and was a present member of First Christian Church in Ramseur. Mr. York was a watchmaker, a ventriloquist and a member of the DAV. He had a great zest for life and loved his garden, birds and horses. Mr. York was a loving husband, father and brother and was adored by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jessie Bate York, daughters, Rebecca Y. Ragan of Asheboro, NC, Martha Y. Collins of Hamlet, NC, Cindy Y. Sorg of Columbus, OH; son, Byron L. York of Cary, NC; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Mary E. York of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 12, 2008 from 6 - 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
