Louis Furman Overby

Louis Furman Overby, age 74, of Troy died Monday, June 3, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center Northeast, Concord. Louis was born October 26, 1938 at Vance County, NC, the son of Frank Thomas and Pattie Wormack Overby. He attended Long Hill Baptist Church for over thirty years and was a former employee of Pilot Freight Carriers. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years: Lois Atkins Overby of the home; two daughters: Barbara Ann Overby of Carrboro and Holly Overby McDonald of Troy; one sister: Peggy Overby Taylor of Troy; and granddog, Sparky. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N Main St., Troy; other times at the home. The funeral will be Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 11:00 am at Long Hill Baptist Church, 637 Capelsie Road, Candor with Rev. Mark Forrest officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
