Lorrene Gayle Williams

Lorrene 'Gayle' White Williams passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, at Randolph Hospice House. 

Born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 10, 1942, Gayle spent her early years in Randleman, North Carolina, where she built a life filled with love and dedication to her family and community. She graduated High Point University in 1964. For 60 years, she was the beloved wife of Glen Neal Williams whom she had known since 1st grade, and the cherished mother of Tara Lynn Lundy and the adored mother-in-law to Taylor Lundy, who she thought of as a son. She also leaves behind many other wonderful family members and many life-long friends who held a special place in her heart. 

Gayle began her career as a school teacher in Boston while Glen served in the Air Force. Upon returning to Randleman, she continued her commitment to education and literacy by working at the Randleman Public Library. Later, she became a Media Assistant at both Randleman Elementary School and Level Cross Elementary School, where she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues with her kindness and dedication. She was very active in the church, Mt. Lebanon UMC, for many years and she truly loved her friends there.

Lorrene and Glen created cherished memories visiting Lake Waccamaw, Holden Beach, embarking on two unforgettable trips to Alaska in their motor home, and spending time with Tara and Taylor. 

Her warmth, generosity, and devotion to those around her will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to her loved ones during this time of loss. 

Funeral service for Mrs. Williams will be held Friday, December 27,2024, 12:00 pm at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, Randleman by Reverend Joe Collins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00-11:50 at the church.
