Lola Anne Griffin Jarrell, age 80, of Asheboro died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital from complications following surgery.
Mrs. Jarrell was born September 6, 1937 in Wake Forest to Cornelius and Jessie Cone Griffin. She was co-founder of AVS Vending and Catering and attended Central Falls Baptist Church. Lola enjoyed cooking and traveling to Myrtle Beach, but the love of her life was spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jarrell was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Griffin.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Robert "Max" Jarrell; son, Robert M. "Robbie Jarrell, Jr. and wife Vicki of Asheboro; daughters, Joanna Lee and husband Mike of Greensboro, Kathy Stanley and husband Alan of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Justin Lee and wife Hailey of Asheboro, Zachary Lee and wife Heather of Greensboro, Megan Jarrell of Carrboro, Kendall Grady of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Kameron Grady of Charlotte; great grandchildren, Parker and Rowen Lee, Katelyn and Grayson Lee; brother, Neal Griffin and wife Libby of Asheboro; sisters, Renda Gwaltney and husband Bob of Concord and Dovie Feher and husband Dave of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister-in-law, Nellie Griffin of Raleigh.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Central United Methodist Church, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro. The family will receive friends following the service in the church family life center. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Park.
