Lois Morgan Long

Lois Davidson Morgan Long, 99, of 905 Shannon Rd. died at her home Saturday, April 23rd. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her first husband, Leslie H. Morgan and her son, Ralph Holt Morgan; and grandchild Sallie Ellen Layne. She is survived by her husband Donald Long; daughters Mrs. Louise Coltrane and husband Thurman, Mrs. Peggy Foust and husband Paul, Mrs. Jane Layne and husband Leo, Mrs. Alice Holloway and husband William; son Tom Morgan of High Point; nine grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Long was a life long member of West Bend United Methodist Church and the oldest living member, having joined in 1923. The first church building was built by the Davidson brothers-her father Colvin was one of the brothers that helped build that church in 1910. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. A funeral service will be conducted at Pugh Funeral Home on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM with her Pastor Drew McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to West Bend United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1845, Asheboro, NC 27204 or the Asheboro Lions Club, NC Association of the Blind, P.O. Box 57, Asheboro, NC 27204.
